Formed in March 2002 with a vision of turning the tide in modern day metal. The band set about writing for the first 5 months before making their live debut in September. This was quickly followed by support slots with SikTh, FONY, MAHUMODO, TRIBUTE TO NOTHING, FALLEN TO, DEFENESTRATION and BRUTAL DELUXE as well as more headlining dates, gaining them considerable praise and attention.
During this time they were spotted by record producer Rick Parkhouse who took them to his studio in Dorset to record their stunning debut album 'Bleach The Sky' which began causing a stir in the press, as well as attracting record company interest. Rateofdepress then went on to finish third place in the 2003 Powerplay Battle of the Bands.
Rateofdepress set up a full UK tour for September 2003. Unfortunately disaster struck when vocalist Marc Prior contracted Pharyngitis leading to a complete cancellation of all gig dates and taking considerable time for a complete recovery. This however just brought the band closer together and stronger as a unit as they fought for the chance to return to the scene.
During this time rateofdepress were picked up by Casket Records, giving them the chance they had worked for to take their debut album ‘Bleach The Sky’ to the masses. The album will be unleashed onto an unsuspecting scene on the 19th April 2004 - mark that date in your diaries, cos it’s the start of something big |
