Intense, haunting and malevolent, Angelwhore deliver a twisted amalgam of metal, industrial and darkness. With its distinctive hooks, slamming beats and razor-sharp production coalescing into strong and surprisingly diverse songs, "Superman" will take you on a journey through disillusionment, addiction, despair and rage.
Formed in 1998 by Jez, Angelwhore is a bitter invective against the feelings of apathy and worthlessness that cling to todays youth. Following some intense early gigs, Angelwhore quickly rose to prominance on the underground scene. The band wa snapped up by Casket in late November 2000, and the debut EP "Superman" has been well-recieved across Europe, with Metal Hammer and Italy's Psycho! magazines putting tracks on their covermount CD's last year. Standout track "Cut" graced the CD of December 2000's Metal Hammer too, as part of the nominations for Britains best unsigned artist. With rapidly growing popularity, worldwide release and airplay, and a European tour with Copro's GF93 and Dreamcatchers Area 54 in Nov/Dec.
Angelwhore have unfortunately split up since, but expect great things from Sone, one of the first spin off bands to emerge from the ashes of Angelwhore, whose debut CD will also be released by Casket in 2003. |
