Plain English

Plain English

If you like your classic rock with crunchy guitar riffs, soaring vocals and proper melodies then Plain English is the band for you.

The new album SHINE is an imaginative and powerful blend of musical styles Take The Rolling Stones, add a bit of Free pour in some Bad Company and mix vigorously with a spoonful of ACDC then bring to the boil with a modern twist and serve very hot and loud….

And there you have it......the unmistakable driving sound of PLAIN ENGLISH.

THE STORY SO FAR…
Plain English (originally called The Jakals) have been writing and performing for
just over six years playing many venues around London and the South East of
England such as The Rock Garden, The Half Moon Putney, Sound Leicester Square
and many more pubs and clubs.

After supporting Keane and Status Quo the band were asked to supply the
soundtrack to a worldwide viral advertising campaign for the WWF (World Wide
Fund for Nature) combating climate change. The band used a song that had
already been written and was ideal with a few lyrical changes it was used for the
video and also released as a single to raise funds for the cause. The song is called
Farewell and can still be heard somewhere on the internet.
Following the WWF campaign the band put on a Showcase at the Royal Albert
Hall in front of invited guests, members of the WWF and the Music Industry. It
was a successful day which created a huge amount of interest. The band were
then invited to the USA to tour which started in Detroit and took in six states
culminating in Rocklahoma, a 5 day festival in Pryor, Oklahoma celebrating rock
bands of the eighties including Ace Frehley, Extreme, Living Colour, Bret Michaels,
Sebastian Bach UFO and Lita Ford.
As a result of the tour Plain English started working with Grammy nominated
producer Freddy Wall www.wallmusicgroup.net and returned to America to work
on the bands first album SHINE.

There followed a slight change to the line up with new singer Max Pepe joining Lucas Cook, Jose Pinto, and Tom Strange. The
majority of recording was carried out at the famous Dark Horse Studios, Franklin
Tennessee www.darkhorserecording.com.
Plain English are currently writing new material and playing at select venues in
and around London and the south east.
