Drivhell began life in 1997 and quickly distinguished themselves in the Italian musical landscape with a fresh, appealing sound and engaging live shows. The first group's work out in 2000, was the 'SUNRISE EP’. In that same year the band participates successfully in various competitions throughout North Italy, among them being the participation in SanremoRock.
In 2007, they released BEHIND THE SILENCE, the fruit of two years of intensive work in the rehearsal room and studio. BEHIND THE SILENCE allows the band to be noticed by the agency management and music promotion Alkemist Fanatix Europe, whose cooperation led to the signing in the summer of 2008 a distribution contract with UK label Casket Music for the creation of new album, A JOURNEY AS A LIFE
Recorded in January 2009 at the Realsound Langhirano Studio (Parma) and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki (Finland). The new production of the band, is a concept album, loosely based on "Cities Invisible” by Italo Calvino, is composed of nine pieces that recall the tradition of progressive '70s, and are also suitable for listeners not accustomed to progressive metal. |
