Formed in Moita, Portugal NEW MECANICA began life under the name DRIFT AWAY, influenced by traditional Heavy Metal with a Gothic touch. Changing their name to RESET soon after, the band recorded their debut demo and started a long touring schedule.
The band recorded their second demo ‘Freedom’ at Floyd Studios, with Nuno Loureiro (Painstruck) producing, and unveiled a more aggressive approach pointing more to modern Metal. They then achieved heavy rotation for their ‘A Matter of Pride’ video, and three tracks were included on the surfing/body-boarding documentary ‘Hot Spots’.
The band then changed their name for the third and final time to NEW MECANICA, and 2006/2007 saw the band busy writing for their first full length album. Entitled ‘Love and Hate’, with production from Daniel Cardoso (Head-Control System, Del), it is an intense, muscular offering, with catchy melodies and powerful rhythms. A video for the track ‘Lonely’ is included on the album, and has been submitted to all relevant channels. |
