Below The Line first unleashed their heavy melodic rock/metal hybrid, on the London live circuit in early 2005, becoming a firm favourite and building up a steady fan base.
The band came together when singer Andy Hutton joined in February 2005. Hutton previously fronted Essex Metal-core fore-runners Stoopi (who were on the verge of breaking out of the underground before their split in 2001/2002).
Completed by guitarists Dave Friedlander and Justin Marechal, bassist Mark Kason and drummer Marc Fox, 2005 saw BELOW THE LINE support many of London’s biggest underground acts including PDHM, <209>, Blood Island Raiders and Head-On.
In March 2006 the band entered Philia Studios (Earthtone9, Vacant Stare, Stamping Ground, to name a few) to record their first EP, Odes To St. Chris, with producer Nick Hemingway (Fony, Desecration, Cancer). Due for release in November, Odes… showcases the band’s solid song writing skills over the course of five tracks. With an incendiary live show to back up their debut EP, Below The Line, are destined for bigger things… |
