“Demon Project” appeared on the metal scene in beginning of the new century as a project of the progressive Siberian musicians. Started as an experiment, the “Demon Project” became the one of the most powerful metal bands in the region of Eastern Russia.
From the very beginning till now the band’s songs are inspired by the ancient myths of Altai – the highland part of the southern Siberia. The modern world is shown through the philosophy of ancient tribes.
Through the years the musicians were searching for their own music style. It finally came to a mixture of modern death and industrial-metal… But not only like this. The music also has some cultural elements. Russian folk melodies are performed by the crystal female vocals are mixed with heavy guitars and growling. Lyrics are partly in Russian and in Altai languages. Electronic sounds ad modern colors and fulfill the picture.
The first Demon Project promo album “Shaman-the wolf” attracted the fans with its unique style. The album was published and distributed in Russia by a local record label. Songs from this album became a part of six metal and industrial compilations.
After a break the Demon Project returned to the scene with new musicians and new intensive sound.
In 2007 the band recorded and issued a promo-EP “Fear Is My Rage”. The EP received good reviews from the media and e-zines and it inspired the band to continue with the full-length album. The CD called “Kara Ora” was recorded in 2008 in Russia and mastered in Sweden. Released by Casket Music in September, 2009.
All the artwork for this CD was created by Gyula Havancsák, who made covers for Annihilator, Grave Digger, Destruction, Nightingale, Iron Maiden, Stratovarius and others. He also created the new band logo that was based on the symbols of ancient Altai warriors. |
